Philosophy

I specialize in the surgical and conservative treatment of knee and shoulder joint injuries as well as sports orthopaedic and traumatological disorders of the entire musculoskeletal system. A particular focus here is on the targeted assessment of all complaints, comprehensive diagnostics and a precise analysis of the patient' s circumstances and activity level in order to jointly determine an individual treatment concept for each patient.

Due to my many years of experience at the University Medical Center Freiburg, my focus is not only on the individual and specialized treatment of patients, but also on science-oriented and evidence-based care according to current standards. By being awarded the teaching license (Venia Legendi) for the subject of orthopaedics and trauma surgery at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg in 2024, I can also help shape the training of future generations of doctors and am also looking forward to keeping my finger on the scientific pulse of the times.

As a passionate sportsman (cycling, skiing,...), I am very aware of how important maintaining or restoring full physical activity is for a full and healthy life for our patients and I am very happy to play my part in this.

Special fields

The spectrum includes conservative and surgical treatment of chronic and acute injuries to the musculoskeletal system, including joint pathologies, sports injuries and overuse injuries with a focus on reconstructive knee joint surgery.
