Diagnostics at the Freiburg Sports Orthopaedics Centre is state-of-the-art and is supported by modern imaging techniques such as digital X-rays and ultrasound. Our state-of-the-art computer system with digital voice recognition enables us to transmit findings, diagnosis and therapy plans to referring colleagues as quickly as possible.
Our X-ray system is a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine of the latest generation ICR 2600. This X-ray system is checked and maintained every working day and is subject to strict regulations by the authorities and the Medical Association. All employees working on this equipment have the appropriate additional training and many years of experience. The X-ray images can be evaluated on all computers of the practice after a few seconds. The images can also be burned on CD or directly printed out for referring colleagues or personal archiving.
We have 2 sonography devices from Siemens (Siemens Sonoline SL 1 and Siemens Sonoline SI-250). Sonography is used for examination of tendons, muscles, ligaments, soft tissues and joints without x-ray stress for the patient. Sonography can also be used for targeted puncture as well as for targeted infiltration of pain medication or cartilage preparations. Especially in the shoulder and knee joint area, sonography is used before more complex diagnostic examinations (e.g. magnetic resonance imaging or computer tomography) to confirm the diagnosis.
We have a voice-controlled, state-of-the-art computer system (Albis and indocma) which enables us to send diagnoses, findings and therapy plans to referring colleagues as quickly as possible. If necessary, the patient can also take his letter with him directly after his treatment.
